What is risk management?

Risk management is the discipline of controlling how much capital you expose to any single trade and to the market overall. Core tools include fixed fractional risk (e.g. risking 0.5-1% per trade), stop losses, position sizing, daily loss limits and portfolio exposure caps. Good risk management keeps you in the game through inevitable losing streaks.
